Pride of Guernsey: 'She has developed into a mature and caring individual'
JODIE HELPE has become a role model to her peers since moving to the College of Further Education.
The 17-year-old has been nominated by her progress coach for the Overcoming Adversity award, which is sponsored by the college.
'Jodie is a very nervous individual who struggled to transition from high school to college,' said nominee Erica De Sousa.
'However, since starting College of Further Education we have seen Jodie flourish and become a positive role model to her peers.
'She has developed into a mature and caring individual.
'Considering her barriers she now has a large group of friends, she attends extra-curricular activities and her peers seek for her support.'
Jodie is progressing on to Level 3 in health and social care and wants to work for a pre-school.
