Get your votes in now, says our Dean
ISLANDERS wanting to vote for their favourites in this year's Pride of Guernsey Awards have just a few days left.
And ahead of the close of voting at midnight on Tuesday, The Dean of Guernsey, The Very Rev. Tim Barker has urged those who have not filled in one of the special voting forms (as shown below) or cast their vote online, to do so before it is
too late.
The Dean has become the latest person to offer his support for the Guernsey Press Pride of Guernsey Awards – 12 brand-new accolades for those islanders who do extraordinary things every day but who until now do not get acknowledgement.
Even though he was relatively new to the island, he would be voting too, he said.
'I think it's a brilliant idea to invite people in Guernsey to celebrate those different aspects of Guernsey life, which makes it such a special place,' he said.
'There are some remarkable people here who do some remarkable things.'
The sheer range of nominations proved that, he added, and it had been 'absolutely fascinating' to see.
