A 'PEOPLE'S voice' consultation will be launched by Health & Social Care to give the public a chance to have a say over the future of health care.

It is all part of a joined-up and collective approach being pledged by the committee under its 'transformation' programme, with staff, the public and the third sector all being actively engaged and asked to come up with ideas.

Health is also looking to work with Jersey in key areas, including a major assessment of needs for the islands.

There is also hope for potential plans to team up on procurement and to bring in a new tailor-made regulatory framework.

Its president, Heidi Soulsby, pictured, said it would not be taking a top-down approach with its transformation programme, and also stressed that work was already underway to fundamentally change the way services were delivered and in turn addressing the costs of health care.
