One of two sites could replace Fontaine Vinery
TWO private sites have been identified as potential alternatives for Fontaine Vinery tenants, following a review and evaluation of several options in the north of the island.

States' Property Services has submitted an application seeking a 10-month extension to the temporary planning permission for the compounds in order to enable work to continue with the two alternatives.
Both of these new areas would require planning permission for a change of use from agricultural land to storage and distribution – however they are both no longer functioning for growing.
The first site, Pulias Vinery, which is 11,525sq. m, has not been used for more than 30 years and would require significant investment to restore to working use.
The second, Extension Vineries, 9,751sq. m, has collapsing and deteriorating greenhouses which would also require a large amount of money to repair and replace to return to growers' land.
Tenants of Fontaine Vinery were updated at the weekend after the Development & Planning Authority received applications both for the extension there and the possible two new sites.
