Fontaine Vinery given 10-month extension
FONTAINE VINERY will remain open to light industry until the end of the year after a 10-month extension was approved by planners.
However, a new condition has been imposed meaning that users will be able to enter and exit the site only via Le Murier.
Planners brought in the condition because the Le Murier entrance is 'properly laid out and provides a safer option for site access and egress'.
Under previous tenant agreements, vehicles were allowed to exit the St Sampson's vinery directly onto Vale Road.
The site's use for storage and distribution has been extended until 21 December 2017.
Property Services sought the temporary permission in order to continue housing the 11 privately-owned businesses currently based there until an alternative site is secured and cleared.
Traffic & Highway Services said there were traffic concerns around the site, but that these could be accommodated by stricter traffic controls.
