Warning over 'dangerously strong' Trump pills

GUERNSEY POLICE is warning that a dangerously strong batch of ‘Ecstasy’-type tablets - branded with the face of the US president - could be circulating the island.

The tablets are manufactured in the shape of Donald Trump’s head with one side showing the president’s face and the other his name.

A batch of 5,000 of the carrot-coloured tablets was seized earlier this week by German Police in Osnabruk.

‘We would strongly advise members of the public not to take these tablets,’ senior investigation officer at the Guernsey Border Agency, Rebecca Falla, said.

‘It is virtually impossible for people to know what has been used to make pills like this, and people can’t predict how they will react.

'People taking the drug are putting themselves at risk, and those risks are increased if the tablets are taken with alcohol.

'Our message to islanders is it’s simply not worth it.’

MDMA pills can sometimes kill, but more commonly they induce nausea, panic, paranoia and agitation.

Experts in the UK have warned the drug is getting stronger, leading to more people seeking medical assistance for mental and behavioural issues.

Should any islander become aware of pills such as this being offered for sale, the police said it urged them to contact CID at police headquarters on 725111 or call the Guernsey Border Agency’s drug helpline anonymously on 0800 318 318.
