Alderney businesses reach for stars

ALDERNEY establishments which received disappointing scores when hygiene inspectors visited in June saw their ratings soar on a return visit this week.

Bumps, St Anne’s Guesthouse, McAllister’s Wet Fish Shop and the Golf Club all got just one star on the most recent scores on the doors ratings.

Saye Farm Campsite received one star in 2015.

They were all for minor issues, largely record-keeping and minor repairs.

The owners acted quickly to implement their recommendations.

The inspector made a return visit this week and awarded Bumps, the fish shop and the Golf Club five stars and the campsite four.
