Wait nearly over for Saumarez Park playground’s younger users

GRASS is now all that stands between young people and the new section of playground at Saumarez Park.

Equipment has now been installed for younger users of Saumarez Park playground. It is hoped the playground will open later this month depending on how the newly-sown grass area is coming along. All the playground equipment has been installed, painted and inspected at the new area, which is aimed at younger users.

But grass has only just started getting going on the earthen areas between the equipment.

However, if young people get on the area too quickly, the new grass will be trampled and the areas will turn into mud patches.

So when the playground opens will depend on how it gets on over the next few weeks.
