The John Ramplin Charitable Trust purchased the former St John’s training building at Les Gigands last week for £299,000.

It is hoped that by early in the new year a lease will have been drawn up and the building will become home to the Guernsey Army, Air and Sea cadets.

The trust’s chairman, David Woodland, said it the trust was formed just under two years ago, with a remit to invest in Guernsey registered charities, to support the local community using money from John Ramplin’s will.
