Following two rejections of planning permission for housing on the agricultural site by politicians, the smaller scheme for 26 dwellings there was approved by an independent planning tribunal last week.
The site is on land previously leased by a cattle farmer and bordered by several houses on the road to Jerbourg and the Manor Stores complex.
Although it was deemed Grade 1 agricultural land, the application was made in 2016 under the Rural Area Plan, which does not specifically outlaw building on land based on that graded system.
