'We are currently experiencing issues with our reservations system which can cause it to intermittently run very slowly and on rare occasions so slowly that it has prevented customers from accessing our current website. Many of our customers will have experienced this over the past few weeks,' a spokesman said.
'If we were to introduce our new website while the system behind it had this temporary issue, our customer’s experience would fall well short of what we have planned and they would naturally believe that the design of the new site was poor, which is not the case.'
When the new site does go live, it will be the first time the airline has charged for hold baggage.
