Passing out parade for latest eight Guernsey Police recruits
EIGHT new police recruits took part in a passing out parade, officially becoming warranted officers.
The six men and two women were called to the bar of the Royal Court to swear an affirmation as a member of the force.
The passing out parade and graduation ceremony in the Grand Hall of the court was attended by Bailiff Sir Richard Collas, who inspected the new recruits.
PC Simon Hamon, who oversaw the new officers’ training, said this second intake of officers from 2017, who started their training in September last year, was larger than usual.
‘It’s intense training and a massive learning curve for them. They’ve got all the skills they need now and I know that they can’t wait to start,’ he said.
The new officers are: PC 136 Silvio Abreu, PC 137 Lewis Drummy, PC 138 Peter Falla, PC 142 Brett Hewlett, PC 145 Hannah Kershaw, PC 148 Louise Potter, PC 152 Jordan Taylor and PC 157 Ryan Wesley.
