Kimberley Fletcher’s parrot went missing from his home in Rue Jehannet in St Martin’s on 21 June while Ms Fletcher had popped over to visit a neighbour. Her son had come running over to say the family dog had panicked when he saw Ms Fletcher was no longer home and had pushed the window open in the lounge to find her, leading to the escape of Twinkle.
‘I’m worried about him,’ said Ms Fletcher.
‘I’ve been going out every day since he’s been missing, searching for him from tree to tree and taking my find Twinkle bag with me, with the cardigan he likes in it and grapes to coax him down with. I’m constantly ready to go with all his stuff.
‘He’s not the first parrot I’ve had. I have two others at home and I’ve tried everything to get him back – he’s very friendly and has been hand-reared – please let me know immediately if you see him.’
Twinkle’s markings are very distinctive with a bright red tail and flecks of red throughout his grey coat of feathers, one white claw and an identity ring around his ankle. There have been a number of sightings of Twinkle in the weeks since, including at Petit Bot, La Trelade and Rectory Hill, but so far there has been no luck in catching him.
Ms Fletcher added: ‘I’ve had posters printed and had them posted in shops, pubs, doors, as well as passing them to people in the street. I’ve also contacted Island FM and Animal Aid and posted it all over social media.
‘Please help us find him.’
