Painted pebbles’ aim is some lockdown joy

COLOURFUL pebbles are being hidden around the island which people can look for on their two hours of exercise.

Cheryl Lowe and her two sons, Cody, 8, and Freddy, 3, have been painting pebbles over the Easter holidays while the boys were not at school.

Cody came up with the idea to do something nice for people so, over the weekend, Mrs Lowe and the boys went out and hid them for others to find.

‘It’s just been a bit of fun for the boys to do, they like to make people happy and I’ve quite enjoyed painting them too,’ she said.

‘The boys also painted a small wooden board to put outside our house.

‘We enjoy being creative, painting and crafts are a favourite of ours.

‘We’ve seen so many wonderful bright creative things around our area when out for our walks and rides.’

During their walks, the family had been collecting pebbles and thought it would be great to paint them and leave them around for others to find.

Mrs Lowe said it was a fun and creative thing for the boys to do while adapting to the lockdown restrictions.

‘We are very proud of both our boys and how they are handling the lockdown,’ she said.

She said little things like finding a colourful pebble can help bring a bit of positivity to someone and make them smile.

She hoped the pebbles she painted with her sons would do this.
