Reduced schedule for local cinema
AS COVID-19 hits film releases, the Mallard Cinema has confirmed that it will be operating a reduced schedule going forward.
A spokesperson for the cinema said that as a temporary measure the cinema would be operating on a reduced schedule, across Friday, Saturday and Sunday only each week.
'This is due to the impact of the UK lockdown on the available film content, and consequential delay of new film releases,' they wrote.
'We'd like to offer our continuing thanks to all our customers for their ongoing support, which has helped us to remain open.
'We apologies if this temporary limiting of our show times causes any inconvenience, but will return to our standard opening hours as soon as we start seeing some regular, new releases being distributed to UK cinemas.'
English cinemas have closed during the latest lockdown, which runs until 2 December. There are separate rules for other parts of the UK.
The Guernsey cinema is still offering private events.
