The director of public health posted a photo of her jab on social media with the now famous Guernsey Together slogan.

The initial consignment of the first Covid-19 vaccine was received in Guernsey on 10 December, enabling the roll-out of the first phase of immunisation in line with the latest information and advice from the UK.

A system of prioritisation for people at-risk has been set out as to how the vaccine will be rolled out. The current approved vaccine is delivered in two doses.

The first priority is residents in a care home for older people and their carers; then all those 80 and above, and frontline health and social care workers. In the third level is all those 75 years and above, next those 70 and above and ‘clinically extremely vulnerable individuals’.

The next priority is those aged 65 and over, then all individuals aged 16 to 64 with underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality.

In the seventh tier is all those 60 and above, then all those 55 and over, then everyone 50 and over. The final spot is the rest of the population (to be determined).
