Non-residents who qualify for vaccine asked to get in touch

NON-RESIDENTS who fall into a vaccination priority group and will be in the Bailiwick for the foreseeable future are urged to fill out a form so Public Health can gain an understanding of the situation.

Yesterday's press conference panel consisted of CCA chair Deputy Peter Ferbrache. director of Public Health Dr Nicola Brink and States chief executive Paul Whitfield. (29246362)

The States wants to gain an understanding of how many people are in the island but who are not ordinarily residents here but fall into the first nine vaccination priority groups.

Anyone who falls into this category and will be in the Bailiwick for the foreseeable future should fill out an online form found at gov.gg/covid19vaccinationform.

This will advise the States of individual circumstances and will help to gain an understanding of how many people fall into that category. If accessing the online form is not possible, call a non-clinical helpline on 717118.

‘While not permanent residents here, these people are often on-island supporting others in our community,’ he said.

‘Should they catch Covid, they are just as vulnerable as residents in the same priority groups so it is something that needs careful consideration.’

The first port of call is to understand numbers and into which categories they fall. While some may have a UK NHS number, others will not.

But Covid can target anyone and if these people become symptomatic it could put pressure on the Bailiwick’s health services, so it is ‘good purpose’ for the States to look at vaccinating these groups.
