Gun emplacement No. 4 of the Mirus Battery, just down the road from La Houguette Primary School in Rue de L’Arquet, St Peter’s, will feature 20 rooms of horror movie-themed terror.

Proceeds from the event will be split between the school’s PTFA and the Guernsey Cheshire Home.

The event is the brainchild of Kim Carre, who recruited her PTFA colleague Julie Rowson as co-organiser.

‘I’ve wanted to do this for years, but with work and child commitments I’ve never got around to it,’ said Mrs Carre.

The Bunker of Horrors will the first event of its kind in Guernsey, with more than 25 scarers and terror rooms. All in aid of a school’s PTFA and charity. Pictured are some of the scarers and the organisers, Kim Carre and Julie Rowson. (30095943)

‘Two years ago I went to Julie’s for a Halloween party. Because she’s American, and the way she had decorated her house, it just blew me away, so I dragged her in to help me.’

Mrs Carre said it had been a huge community project and she wanted to thank everyone who had helped out in the months of planning.

She was particularly grateful to Gillian Lenfestey, for the use of her bunker, and to Battletec Guernsey, who use the site for air-soft war games.

Visitors on the night can expect to see 30 ‘scarers’ both in and outside the bunker, including Frankenstein.

‘There will be a lot of people in character and we hope that people will be scared out of their wits,’ said Mrs Ferbrache.

The gun emplacement itself will become a Zombie Zone and take on a Day of the Dead theme. Other films to feature will include A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

There will be a beer tent and barbecue with meat draw and a trick or treat Open The Box.
