The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions held its mid-year meeting at Blanchelande College to discuss two key school library publications.

‘It was an absolutely amazing experience,’ said Darryl Toerien, head of inquiry-based learning and libraries at Blanchelande.

Five librarians from overseas, one of whom came from Brazil, travelled to the island for the event and several others tuned in remotely.

The two-day event continues today, when the group will get stuck into the practical side of librarianship and what the IFLA stands to achieve.

‘What was really incredible was the mix of local colleagues joined by all those who participated online,’ said Mr Toerien.
