Point Away scrubs in to help the Red Cross
A LOCAL company has shown its appreciation towards the work of the Red Cross, including the charity’s contribution to Ukraine, by pressure cleaning the car park at the shop in the Rohais for free.
Luke Warr, owner of Point Away, expressed his gratitude for the charity and wanted to give something back in return for its humanitarian aid work.
‘The Red Cross is doing so much to help Ukraine, and while we can’t do much here, I thought that at least by doing this we can help out the charity which can then help people in Ukraine.’
Mr Warr started work on the car park on Saturday morning, however soon decided it would be better completed in three stages, which will be done over future weekends.
‘I didn’t realise how big a job it would be and so we’ll finish it in a couple more sessions so it’s as clean as possible for them.’
Point Away typically specialises in stone cleaning and repointing.
‘It’s definitely rewarding doing something like this,’ said Mr Warr.
‘We think and talk about the situation in Ukraine all the time and just wanted to do something to help.
‘That can be quite difficult and so doing something in return will hopefully help out the Red Cross.’
