New Clematis to be launched at Chelsea
FINAL preparations are taking place on Raymond Evison’s entry for this year's Chelsea Flower Show.
The world-famous show in London will see entries judged on Monday, with members' day on Tuesday and Wednesday, before opening fully to the public on Thursday.
This year’s event follows just eight months after the delayed 2021 event.
Mr Evison has been in London this week with his team getting ready.
‘This year’s show exhibit is now progressing very well, but lots more work to be done,’ he said.
‘Of course none of this would be possible without the amazing team headed up by Chris Ozanne back in Guernsey, who help to grow all the plants.’
The display will feature more than 2,000 plants.
There will also be new planters and containers, which have been made by Guernsey Prison through its Creative Learning in Prison scheme.
Raymond Evison was awarded his 31st Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal last September at the 2021 show, as well as The President’s Award for the exhibit that the RHS president considered the most noteworthy exhibit in the entire Flower Show.
He is launching a new clematis at the show – Clematis Issey, a vibrant red flower with a yellow centre.
