Specsavers make a difference for Grow
MORE than 50 Specsavers’ marketeers came together on a ‘Making a Difference’ day to help support local charity Grow Ltd.
The team responded to a series of briefs from Grow to help launch a public event, a new annual fundraiser, and to create a new loyalty scheme, as well as a public engagement plan.
‘Today has been so inspiring and the enthusiasm and level of expertise from all the teams has been fantastic,’ said Marguerite Talmage, one of Grow’s directors.
‘We have seen ideas today that we never would have thought of, and they were extremely professional and well considered, so we are excited to follow these up.’
Grow is set to review the ideas suggested and will regroup with Specsavers in the near future to attempt to put the plans into action.
The charity was one of three which Specsavers’ La Villiaze support office has chosen to work with this year.
‘As a business we wanted to support and give back in a way that would really make a difference, have a lasting impact and also be more fulfilling for our colleagues,’ said Chris Carter, Specsavers’ marketing and e-commerce director.
‘It’s been a fantastic day with some really exciting and tangible ideas that our teams look forward to working with Grow to implement in the future,’ he said.
The charity also launched its ‘dig deep for Grow’ campaign earlier this month as it aims to raise a final £500,000 for the £3m. redevelopment project of its headquarters.
The new site is set to be completed next spring and will include a hospitality and retail training centres where the crew will learn occupational skills using produce grown and products made on-site.
There will also be a wellness centre, an art and crafts centre and a carpentry workshop.
