There is a new location for Meet The Pilots next month on the east apron with parking available off La Villiaze Road.

It is being sponsored by Ravenscroft for the fifth year and will be taking place at a new location on the east apron at the airport on Wednesday 7 September from 2 until 5pm.

‘After some challenging years, we hope to be back with a strong line-up for Meet The Pilots this year,’ said event organiser Gary Elson.

The event will welcome the Chinook helicopter, Team Raven, the Muscle Pitts, the Blades and the debut of an OV10 Bronco.

For the children, the CIAS Islander, Junior Joey and an airport fire truck will be on display.

‘It is always a great afternoon, and we know how much islanders love the opportunity to get up close to some of the stars of the display and meet the pilots lucky enough to fly them,’ said Mr Elson.

‘We’re grateful to Ravenscroft and Guernsey Airport for their continued sponsorship which allows us to put the event on and ensure that all the donations at the event go to the Guernsey Air Display.’

Ravenscroft Group managing director Mark Bousfield said the company had no hesitation in sponsoring the event again, which is a highlight of the island’s calendar.

‘The team behind the display does a fantastic job in raising the funds, securing the planes and making it all happen. We always see hundreds of people coming along to meet the pilots but as this is the last day of the summer holidays, we think it will be even more popular this year and hopefully that will mean we can raise a record amount to help ensure that the air display continues for many years to come.’

Admission is by donation and parking will be available in fields at the eastern end of the runway on La Villiaze Road, which will be one-way from the Specsavers end.
