The bags have been put together for families of premature or seriously poorly babies and contain specially-chosen picture books and rhyme sheets for families to enjoy together.

‘Reading and rhyming with babies and young children is a crucial part of developing communication and language skills,’ said Guille-Alles’ early years lead Emily Pailing.

‘This bonding is especially important for the parents of premature babies, who can’t cuddle their baby in the usual way.’

A7 Design founder Andre Bisson said it was proud to sponsor the book bags.

‘In July 2015, while trying to navigate the corridors of Southampton NICU, I received a call out of the blue from Jo Priaulx offering the charity’s unconditional assistance. This included the use of a PPBF flat next to the hospital. That was at the time, without doubt, the most generous and kind offer I had ever experienced.’

The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation was founded in 2003 by World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx and his wife Jo, following the premature birth of both their children. The charity is committed to supporting premature babies and seriously poorly children and their families.

The charity recently launched its ‘Buy-A-Night’ campaign to help support families using the charities flats near Southampton Hospital.
