Superyacht Kismet’s visit to the island is a fait accompli
ONE of the largest superyachts ever to visit Guernsey was refuelling in St Peter Port yesterday.
The Kismet left Monaco two weeks ago and arrived in local waters yesterday morning.
Rubis Channel Islands refuelled the vessel and said the visit showed the strategic advantages of Guernsey’s location at the gateway to the English Channel.
‘This arrival represents an exciting opportunity to further establish Guernsey as a premier destination for superyachts, and we look forward to welcoming many more vessels in the future,’ a Rubis spokeswoman said.
The 122m-long vessel is registered in the Marshall Islands, but is based in Europe. The vessel, which was completed earlier this year, is available for charter. During the summer it would cost 3m. euros a week to charter, but this drops to 2.7m. euros a week during the winter for anyone looking to have a cheaper holiday. However, this excludes expenses.
The vessel has eight bedrooms, able to accommodate 12 people, as well as three staff cabins to accommodate the 36 crew.
Facilities include an outdoor cinema, a massage room, a helipad and a dance floor.
There is also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa sauna, steam room, gym and beauty room.
There is the option to have four jet skis, two stand-up jet-skis, four seabobs and two foilboard, as well as four tenders and a submarine.
It has a top speed of 18 knots, and the 360,000 litre fuel tanks means it has a range of 6,000 nautical miles. This means it could get from Monaco to Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.
It is reportedly owned by Fulham FC’s billionaire owner Shahid Khan.
