Youths are reported to have thrown a sledgehammer at a cow
ST SAMPSON’S residents have complained about youths throwing items at cows, including a sledgehammer.

The cows in a field behind houses in La Hure Mare Road on North Side were subject to anti-social behaviour on a number of nights last week.
Neighbours reported the matter to the GSPCA, which confirmed it was investigating reports of boulders and tools and debris from a building site, including a sledgehammer being hurled at the young cows in the field.
GSPCA manager Steve Byrne said the matter had been reported to the GSPCA’s welfare department.
‘The team are looking into it,’ he said.
‘We take all calls about care and neglect very seriously and this sort of behaviour is completely inappropriate.’
