This year, 38 teams from Guernsey, Jersey and UK took part over seven stages, totalling 58 miles.

‘At the moment we’re in the process of handing out letters to residents, and we tried to do that as early as possible this time,’ said Guernsey Rally PR organiser Sophy Harvey.

‘We let the residents know as early as we can, the drivers know a little bit sooner, but the routes won’t be available for the public until much closer to the time. That’s the policy that we’ve been given and are working to the deadlines given by E&I.

‘It also gives people time to ask questions if they live on a route.’

She added that the response had been okay so far.

‘I think after the success of this year’s rally, it’s encouraged more people to get on board with it,’ she said.

‘All we can say at this point is that they are good stages.’

The rally typically takes place in February or March, but no exact date has yet been confirmed.

Rally organisers have been at the North Show this week, putting on demonstrations and offering passenger rides in rally cars in support of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation.
