President Sasha Kazantseva-Miller is taking responsibility on digital and innovation matters, air and sea connectivity, and work with the Guernsey Development Agency.
‘I know that the team I have with me on the committee are ready to roll up the sleeves and get involved with driving forwards some of the sectors and projects that we have within our committee mandate,’ she said.
‘I was very keen to make sure that all areas of the committee had a job to do, but we will also all work together to do the best we can for the island’s economy.’
Of her board members, Haley Camp will lead on digital assets, and work with the Policy & Resources Committee on finance regulation and tax; Lee Van Katwyk will be the lead for tourism and retail; and Rhona Humphreys will lead on trade negotiations, and the regulation of the energy sector, and support vice-president Andrew Niles on the finance sector.
Deputy Niles will chair the Finance Sector Forum, lead on the finance sector, and work with the Guernsey Registry.
‘Innovation is going to be one of our key themes across the next term of government, and how we facilitate that together with finance industry is going to be important,’ he said.
‘We need to bring government to industry to enable us to understand where we can enable change and progress, and what our prime industry needs from us.’
The whole committee will still work across the entire mandate, however, the committee leads will be the first point of contact for working with industry and officers on their subjects.
