But everyone else will have to wait three more weeks to find out who will take home the prizes.
Sponsors, independent judges and Guernsey Press representatives met yesterday to make the difficult decision of choosing the winners across 13 categories.
Representing the sponsor of Emergency Hero of the Year, Medical Specialist Group CEO Dr Farid Fouladinejad said that there was a lot to consider.
‘It was a really tough decision,’ he said. ‘We had a full spectrum of candidates focused on saving lives and all of them demonstrated just how much Guernsey has to be proud of.’
Lawyer Laurent Thibeault, also judging the category, said that some of the stories were very moving, and made deciding a winner more difficult.
More than 180 nominees were put forward across the 13 categories.
The public were then invited to vote for their favourite in each category to decide the top three.
A supplement with the shortlisted nominees will be included in the Guernsey Press on Thursday.
The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony at St Pierre Park on Saturday 18 October.
The ceremony will be live-streamed on Guernsey Press channels.
