The rises follow a public consultation by the Committee for the Environment & Infrastructure to ensure Guernsey’s bus service remains affordable while continuing to strike a balance between passenger cost and government subsidy.
From 30 March, the standard daytime bus fare will cost £1.70 if using a debit or credit card, 10p more than the current fare.
The ‘Pay as you go’ Puffinpass fare will rise from £1.15 to £1.25. A two-day visitor pass will cost £15, a rise of £4, while a one-day family pass will cost £20 and a two-day family pass will cost £30, rising from £13 and £21 respectively.
Feedback on other issues from the proposals for changes to bus services outlined by the committee last month, including axing some routes, are still being considered.
