And Deputy Charles Parkinson is to be its new treasury lead.
The committee agreed both positions at its first meeting following the replacement of Gavin St Pier with Andrew Niles.
‘I’m delighted that Yvonne has been elected vice-president,’ said president Lindsay de Sausmarez.
‘We’re fortunate to have committee members who bring many strengths to the table, but the committee will benefit from Yvonne’s broad experience and sound judgement as vice-president.’
Deputy Burford was linked with P&R immediately after last summer’s election but only joined the committee after the vacancy caused by the resignation of disgraced member Jonathan Le Tocq.
Deputy Parkinson returns to a treasury role he last held within the States as the Treasury & Resources minister, during the days of the Policy Council, from 2008 to 2012.
‘I’m also very pleased that Charles is taking the role of treasury lead, which is a natural fit given his significant professional expertise and political background in this area,’ said Deputy de Sausmarez.
