‘It’s really great to see more and more people taking part,’ said organiser Kevin Penney.
‘It’s great to have this kind of weather, obviously you have the pre-registered swimmers but people have come out in droves.’
This year’s swim was the first without club stalwart Jo Norman, who died last month. She had been instrumental in organising the swim over the years.
‘We were really saddened to lose such a prominent member of the club,’ said Mr Penney.
‘Our last group are swimming in her memory and I always swim in the last group, so it’s really special to have friends and family remembering her this way.’
