Water Taxi CI founder Max Boleat said he had been ‘absolutely inundated’ with enquiries.
‘We have expanded our charter services at short notice to add additional inter-island shuttles where possible.
'We are collaborating with charter partners across the Channel Islands to increase capacity as quickly as possible. However, we ask that customers keep in mind that, as charter operators, our capacity is strictly limited and subject to weather disruptions,' he said yesterday.
Having already provided a number of inter-island shuttles this week incorporating Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark in ‘less-than-ideal conditions’, Water Taxi CI is now fully booked for the weekend ahead, having added an extra Sunday sailing for those looking to attend Supertri Jersey.
‘We have been overwhelmed with enquiries over the past 24 hours, and we sincerely apologise to anyone who has been unable to reach us or is still awaiting a response,’ said Mr Boleat.
‘Our small team is working extremely hard to reply to everyone as quickly as possible.
‘We are also working behind the scenes to expand our services further in the short term, though this will take some time.’
He said he had been saddened to hear about the issues experienced by the Islands Unlimited team, which he said had provided an ‘excellent, reliable inter-island service’ since launching last summer.
‘We have been working closely with them this summer, particularly on our direct Jersey-
Alderney charter service, successfully increasing capacity to support summer events in Alderney,’ he said.
Mr Boleat founded Water Taxi CI in 2023 at the age of 25 with the aim of providing an alternative means of inter-island travel year round. It has been operating the Jersey-Alderney service since its reintroduction in 2025, subsidised by the States of Alderney.
The company’s newest vessel, Atlantic Isle, is purpose-built for transporting 12 passengers in ferry-style forward-facing seating.
