Guernsey Police said it responded to these reports along with the coastguard, Guernsey Fire and Rescue and the St John Ambulance & Rescue Service.
Razibul Hasan was given CPR but died at the scene, said police.
‘Officers have been closely liaising with Mr Hasan’s family since this incident, and we would like to express our condolences with them at this difficult and tragic time,’ said a spokesman.
