Collins was nominated by the British secretary Duncan McLaren, seconded by Tony Allcock MBE (CEO of Bowls England) and Anna Marshall (Director of Competitions & Events of Bowls Scotland) and was elected unopposed.
This is the first time in the 112-year history of British Bowls that a Guernseyman will hold the post of president. Collins has been involved with the BIBC since 1999 as a delegate for Guernsey.
'Having stepped down from all my Bowls Guernsey duties last year, it is a great honour to be nominated, especially considering my age, just 33. I shall look forward to being the president and figurehead for British Bowls next year,' Collins said.
