Injury crisis hits peak with 18 unavailable

GUERNSEY have a whole match-day squad unavailable as their injury crisis reaches its peak this weekend.

Head coach Jordan Reynolds has 18 players out injured for tomorrow's trip to Gravesend and although there is light at the end of the tunnel, he joked he currently had 'more brackets than an algebra equation'.

'I'm hoping to have anywhere between five or six players back next week and after that most should be back,' he said.

'There are people in the league who think we are lying about the extent of our injuries, but what they don't realise is that while other clubs in the league have a first, second, third and sometimes fourth team, we basically have a first team squad and half a second team I can pick from.

Winger Dave Davison is the latest to join the injury list due to a hamstring problem and Reynolds has just two of his regular backline available tomorrow in Jason Batiste and Dale Rutledge.

It will be scrum-half Rutledge's last game for the club, too, as he is returning to his native New Zealand next week.
