Reynolds buoyed by 'brilliant' forward pack
GUERNSEY head coach Jordan Reynolds heaped praise on his forwards after his side claimed a vital bonus point and came within a whisker of an unlikely victory at Gravesend on Saturday.
Eventually they succumbed 27-24 to their hosts, but Guernsey picked up the losing bonus point by virtue of finishing within seven points of the victors in a rain-soaked game dominated by the forward packs.
'We did have an opportunity to snatch the win on the last play of the game and must have gone through 30-odd phases to move the ball up field, but we were eventually held up over the line and then the ref blew the final whistle,' said Reynolds, who was missing 18 injured players.
'But in all honesty, when I got up on Saturday morning, I would have taken a point considering that we were massively understaffed, but our forwards played an exceptional game.'
