Massive three weeks for GRFC
GUERNSEY will have to face up to the prospect of the dreaded 'R' word – relegation – if they do not turn their fortunes around in the next two games.
Director of rugby Jordan Reynolds made that admission yesterday ahead of tomorrow's trip to CS Rugby 1863, who are three places above his team in the National Three London & South-East table.
'We have talked this week about losing becoming a habit and people might look and say that we beat one of the top sides in East Grinstead this season so we are capable, but we have not earned anything.
Guernsey are now languishing five points adrift at the bottom of the 14-team table, not helped by their recent five-point deduction, and there is now clear daylight between the top eight and the rest after 10 rounds of matches.
'This is what we wanted to avoid,' Reynolds said. 'When you are scrapping between six teams, it is any team's drop zone.'
That is why he believes CS Rugby pose a real threat to his side tomorrow, saying that they will be a 'desperate team who will try things and defend hard for the 80 minutes'.
