Guernsey seeking tries and retribution
GUERNSEY feel they have a score to settle when Amersham & Chiltern visit Footes Lane tomorrow evening.
Jordan Reynolds' men won their match away to the same opposition 17-15 earlier this season, only to be deducted the points for having fielded Layton Batiste the week after he had received a red card, and the GRFC director of rugby admitted yesterday that the eventual outcome still rankles within their ranks.
'That game of rugby out on the field was one that we won because we were the better side on the day, so there is a little bit of resentment there that we didn't get anything for it.
Reflecting on his side's performance when the two sides met in October, Reynolds said that they should have won by a greater margin and let some good try-scoring opportunities go to waste in the first half especially even though they were disrupted by injuries early on.
However, he expects A&C to have improved in the intervening months.
'They seemed quite good across the park and I'm sure their set-piece will be better than it was, so overall they will be a better side now than when we played them the last time,' said Reynolds.
Guernsey v. Amersham & Chiltern kicks off at 6pm tomorrow at Footes Lane.
