ST JACQUES followed in the footsteps of St George and slayed the Dragons on Saturday at the KGV.

There was little fire about the Basingstoke Dragons, though, who were comprehensively outplayed by the home side, who started their Hampshire Solent Merit League title defence in emphatic style.
It's a cliche, but, had this been a boxing match, it would have been stopped after the opening barrage from the yellow-and-blacks that saw them storm into a 34-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes.
In total they were to score 14 tries, 11 of them converted, to add to an early penalty in a 95-0 victory.
