Mallett is star performer on his first visit north
JIM MALLETT stole the show at the annual Alderney Weekend organised by the Guernsey Kart and Motor Club.
In the Empire 0002 racing car Mallett set a new record at the Sprint on the first day and then a second one at the Airport event on the second day.
Day three saw him only four-tenths of a second off Paul Priaulx's hill record.
To say this is the first time he has ever done the Alderney weekend was a remarkable achievement and he duly received the FRG Personal Achievement Award.
Mallett, 35, said it was a memorable way to round off his fourth season in racing.
His first two years of racing were done in a Mallock in the sports libre class, before moving into racing cars.
'This season has been mixed but it was pretty good in the end.'
