Guernsey to host Maidstone in EH Trophy third round
GUERNSEY'S reward for their victory over Marlow on Sunday is a home tie with Maidstone in the third round of the EH Trophy.
The Sarnians should not struggle for information on their Kent/Sussex Division One opponents either, as island forward Steve Waldrom used to play for the club.
'A third home draw in a row is absolutely fabulous,' said Guernsey captain Adie Peacegood.
Maidstone are currently fifth in the table, but have suffered just one defeat from seven league matches this season and have beaten Purley Walcountians and Eastbourne to reach the third round of the EH Trophy, which will be played on the weekend of 7 February.
'Anyone in the third round is always going to be a threat,' Peacegood said.
'It is a long time until February so lots of preparation to do ahead of facing them and it certainly focuses the mind during the winter months.'
