‘Both boards are now working to a potential new date of 11 September. If we can get the match on then this will be at Farmers Cricket Club in Jersey,’ said GCB chief executive Mark Latter.
‘[There are] obvious issues with travel logistics, vaccination status of players, testing and rising cases.
‘Ultimately, the overriding responsibility for player welfare and to the wider populations in both islands makes this decision the only and right one to make in these circumstances.
‘We have entered into dialogue with Public Health to guide us in staging this match safely and will work with them once we receive their advice.’
