The L’Ancresse clubmates were involved in a real ding-dong battle with Royal Guernsey duo Lewis Marley and Conor McKenna with never more than a single hole separating the pairs throughout.
There was some brilliant golf coming down the stretch with Mitchell nearly holing out for eagle on the 15th then Marley chipping in for eagle on the 16th.
The match was all-square going down the 18th and Wallbridge won it in great style, holing a 24ft birdie putt to clinch a 1 up victory.
‘You just keep saying to yourself this is what you practice for. This is the opportunity you want to put yourself in and just kind of visualize what you want as the outcome and then stand over it and just hit the putt. This time it went in,’ said Wallbridge.
