For the second time in two years, the Greens were whitewashed by Jersey in the opening foursomes session on Saturday morning to trail 5-0.
They reduced the deficit by winning Saturday afternoon’s fourballs 3-2, but they still needed seven points from yesterday’s 10 singles rubbers to hold onto the silverware and they did just that with Dave Jeffery – the man who relinquished the captaincy due to being selected as a player – winning the final point of the weekend.
Jersey retained the women’s inter-insular honours, meanwhile, with a 14-6 victory having been 7-3 up after the first day.
