Scott enjoys a ‘top week away’ with England squad

Alex Scott enjoyed every moment of his first involvement in an England senior camp despite not winning his first full international cap.

‘Top week away. Honoured to be a part of the group this week,’ Guernsey’s own Premier League star posted on social media.

Having been called up by the Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel for the first time, Scott was almost immediately put in front of the national media in last Tuesday’s press conference.

However, he missed out on the match-day squad for the victory over Serbia on Thursday night at Wembley and was then an unused substitute in the 2-0 win away to Albania in Tirana on Sunday as England completed a perfect World Cup qualifying campaign.

They completed Group K with eight wins and eight clean sheets, becoming the first European side to play at least six World Cup qualifiers and win them all without conceding.

England will not get together again until March, after which Tuchel will name his squad for the World Cup.
