Johnson is one of 16 players chosen from across European Associate Member nations to participate in the representative fixture, which forms part of ICC Europe’s ongoing player development programme.

Johnson said he was honoured to have been selected.

‘It’s a real privilege to be included in the ICC Europe U23 squad. To play against MCC at Wormsley is a fantastic opportunity and one I’m very much looking forward to.

‘I’m grateful to my coaches, teammates and Guernsey Cricket for their continued support, and I’m excited to represent both ICC Europe and Guernsey on this stage.’

Guernsey Cricket chief operating officer Richard Headington said the selection was significant recognition for both the player and the island’s development pathway.

‘Harry’s selection for the ICC Europe U23 XI is a tremendous achievement and reflects the dedication he has shown to his cricket over a sustained period,’ he said.

‘To be given the opportunity to compete against MCC at Wormsley, one of the most iconic venues in the cricket, is something of real distinction. We are extremely proud to see a Guernsey player recognised at this level.’

Senior men’s national team head coach Jeremy Frith also welcomed the news.

‘Harry has worked exceptionally hard to earn this opportunity. His performances, professionalism and appetite to improve have stood out.

‘Exposure to this standard of cricket will provide invaluable experience and is another positive step in his development within the senior pathway.’
