Tom Finch dominated his bout and won via second-round submission at the Raged UK in Swindon, though Matty Iwon suffered a reversal of the same result in his own bout.
But Black Rock head coach Josh Ozanne called it a ‘really good show’ and highlighted the conduct and professionalism of both fighters.
Fighting in the 80kg category, Finch came out with great pressure and out-struck Jake Lee.
He changed levels and executed a take-down to bring it to the ground, where he controlled the fight to maintain a dominant position until the end of round one.
In round two, they kept it standing for an exchange that saw Finch out score and out-land Lee, shortly followed by some cage control and hitting a double-leg take-down where the Sarnian finished the fight by an Americana. This came just 1min. 7sec. into the round.
At 66kg, Iwon had an opponent change at short notice and accepted a fight against a more experienced Bill Cockle.
He got caught in the first round, spinning back first but pushed forward, picking his opponent apart with strikes.
He dropped his rival twice with a couple of big right-hands and executed a takedown to out score him in the first round.
Come the second round, Iwon again took dominance of the round, out-striking Cockle.
Iwon put him against the cage, then executed another take-down, sadly to then get caught in a triangle choke and subsequently lose deep into round two by submission.
‘We made some great contacts and both fighters gave a great account of themselves on the UK circuit,’ Ozanne said.
‘This means both of the guys will now be listed on the UK MMA rankings.
‘Personally I’m really happy with their performance. Both made weight professionally and both followed game plans and conducted themselves well – I can’t ask for more than that.’
