The Guernsey great conquered Scottish star Julie Forrest 7-6, 6-2 today in the women's singles final of the World Bowls Indoor Championships in Australia.
The 51-year-old's success at Ocean Grove Bowling Club adds to her enviable international title tally and bodes well for her imminent return to the Commonwealth Games stage.
'I have had an amazing bowling career,' she said.
'To say my first world singles title was in 2007 and 19 years later I have added yet another one is unbelievable – but fantastic.'
After ensuring her place in the medals by winning her quarter-final, she had given herself the opportunity to go for gold with a 7-2, 7-6 victory over Sri Lanka's Kumari Mangos.
Forrest had made the final through a 4-3, 8-2 victory against fellow Scot Sophie McGrouther, who had earned her spot through being the defending champion.
Full report and reaction will be available in Monday's Guernsey Press.
