New Elizabeth College vice-principal Richard Williams triumphed overall as U20 athlete Eleanor Jamieson claimed top woman and a huge personal best for the 13.1-miler run in dreary and damp conditions, but with a generally favourable wind direction from L’Eree to North Beach.
Having moved over only a month ago, impressive veteran Williams won in 74min. 1sec., holding off Island Games man James Priest by 13sec.
Mikey Ingrouille ran superbly for the final podium spot in a big PB of 75-57, edging out Mark Jeffreys and Alex Scholes.
Jamieson’s breakthrough 80-34 lifts her to fifth on the Guernsey women’s all-time list.
She emerged a convincing winner ahead of veteran Ulrike Maisch, whose 83-07 was well within the Games A standard, while Nix Dobson took third in an 89-45 training run ahead of next month’s Manchester Half.
